The main purpose of eyelid hygiene is to restore and maintain their health, increase elasticity and eliminate wrinkles in the skin of the eyelids, and improve the health of the eyelashes.

Near the roots of the eyelashes there are sebaceous glands, and on the free edge of the eyelid in the form of a grayish line there are numerous openings of the meiobian glands. About 25 – 40 in the upper eyelid and 20 – 30 in the lower. The main function is the production of secretion, which participates in the formation of the lipid layer of the tear film. With the adverse effects of factors (eyelash extensions, demodex, cosmetics, infections, age-related decrease in estrogen synthesis), they become clogged. This leads to the occurrence of blepharitis, chalazion, loss and thinning of eyelashes.
